Bethany Marie Cailteux was a graduate of the Central High School Class of 2004. Her life here on earth ended on September 26, 2004, when a young man driving under the influence of drugs hit her car head-on, while driving 97 miles per hour in the wrong lane.  She was the loving daughter of Dean and Teresa Cailteux, and devoted little sister to Brittany Cailteux of Clifton, and adored big sister of Brock Cailteux at home. During her short 18 years, her high-spirited, caring personality and engaging smile endeared her to all who met and knew her.

While attending school, she participated in softball and was a member of the high school’s Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) chapter. She was enrolled at Kankakee Community College (KCC) to pursue her dream of being a nurse at the time of her death.

Her vibrant, caring, empathetic nature allowed her to make new friends wherever she went, and she was well-known by students throughout a three county area.
